As the military seeks to reduce the exposure of its fighting men and women to unnecessary risk, the push to deploy unmanned vehicles has gained new urgency. In fact, the development of unmanned vehicles is at an all-time high, with more than 50 land, sea, and air vehicles current in development for defense applications. These vehicles can be used for reconnaissance, attack roles in high-risk situations, communications, and other applications.
